One of my fondest memories of Uncle Bernie for the one spring and summer my older brother and I lived with him and Aunt Selma and Grandfather. He would take my brother and me for a walk the day after the Sabbath. Somehow on the way home the path would go through an Ice Cream store where we got ice cream sundaes. I don't think anyone other than the three of us knew about the ice cream detours. This is but one example of the many kindnesses shown by him to many over the years.
